Studio C103 is an experiment in Naive Publishing 2.0. Much of its content derives from the recent history of literary publishing as experienced or lived through by Stephen Osborne (jso), who in 1972 founded Pulp Press Book Publishers (now Arsenal Pulp Press), and in 1990 co-founded Geist magazine with Mary Schendlinger. He has assisted in the rise (and occasional fall) of several websites, book publishers, magazine publishers, and the 3-Day Novel Writing Contest.
His earliest website, named for the reflex that makes you sneeze in sunlight, remains at phototaxis.ca as a publishing artifact and an example of the limitations of web 1.0. An outdated cv of the proprietor can be found there if you find out how to look for it.
For the mnenomically inclined, studioc103.com masquerades on the internet as waysofpublishing.com and vice-versa. Tell your friends in either case.
Rare and therefore priceless updates from Studio C103 are guaranteed to those who enter an email address in the slot below (spam-protected by WP Hashcash). Your privacy at Studio C103 is also guaranteed.
Or, if you would like to send a note directly to jso, this link also is also protected: studioc103
At the end: go out and get everything and then do everything!
